Leslie Berland is the new CMO of Twitter Inc.

On January 26 2016, Twitter Inc appointed Leslie Berland as the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer). The current appointment was made after Anthony Noto, the CFO of Twitter, was relaxed from his responsibility of handling marketing operations. Prior to finding her current designation, Leslie Berland was working with AmEx (American Express) as the Executive Vice President of marketing and advertising. Currently, she occupies the sixth position in the list of 100 most creative people in Business.

Graham Xavier Ford is the Chief Sri Lankan Cricket Team Coach

Graham Xavier Ford, South African, was appointed as the chief coach of SL cricket team on January 29 2016. At the time of appointment, Graham was occupying the status of a head coach at Surrey County Cricket Club. This is the second time that he has been appointed the head coach of Sri Lanka. Prior to this appointment, he had already served as the coach of Sri Lanka Cricket Team in January 2012 and had served till 2014. His next term of office started from September 2015, when he replaced Marvan Atapattu, who resigned in September 3 2015.

Bangkok hosts Prince Mahidol Award 2015

Sir Michael Marmot and Professor Morton Mower were conferred for their valuable contribution in the field of public health and medicine during the Prince Mahidol Award 2015. The ceremony took place on January 29 2016 at the Grand Palace and in the presence of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who performed the obligation on behalf of Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand. The award ceremony was established in 1992 with a view to celebrate 100 ^th birthday of Prince Mahidol of Songkla.

First Stealth Fighter Aircraft X-2 unveiled by Japan

The first Stealth Fighter Aircraft X-2 was unveiled by Japan on January 28 2016. The introduction has strengthen the defence of the country which is surrounded by Russia and China. The flight would be seen in action in February 2016. The plane is well equipped with two engines which is similar to F-22 of the US. The dimension of the flight is 46 x 30 x 15 and is engineered by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. Additionally, there were also other contributions from 200 companies from all over the world. The plane was built at a cost of USD 340 million.

Awareness for Leprosy on Anti-Leprosy Day

January 30 2016, witnessed Anti-Leprosy Day across India, where an initiative was taken with a view to spread awareness for Hansen’s disease. The day is being celebrated on the martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi, January 30 1948. Some of the key objectives of this day is to create an overall awareness for Leprosy, help people affected by Leprosy, measure and analyse the number of people affected by Leprosy and to aid the Government with the accumulated data. The day marks the initiation of an important phase of India’s health development. Over the years, the event has been gaining good attention from all corners of the nation.
