China launches first Search Engine in Tibetan language
On January 11 2016, China launched the first search engine which would operate on the Tibetan Language. The search engine is known by the name of Cloud Tibet. The search engine has the potential to resolve questions and queries at the rate of 95% in the given language. The project was initially developed in April 2013 and during the development phase numerous developers contributed towards the development of this Tibetan Search Engine. Currently, the centre is situated in the Qinghal Province and is expected to serve 1.2 million people.
AP Government sanctions investment worth INR 38500 crore to RINL
The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with RINL (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) on January 11 2016 on account of development projects. The sanctioned amount for the purpose is INR 38500 crore and the same would be available for development near Visakhapatnam. The event took place during the first-ever Sunrise AP Investment meet hosted in the city of Visakhapatnam. The prospects of investments include setting up of Coke Oven Battery, expansion of Vizag Steel plant, expansion of RINL and development of a Joint Venture with NMDC.
David Bowie is no more
David Bowie, a legendary recording artist passed away on January 10 2016, after suffering from throat cancer. He was an iconic songwriter as well as singer, who had made numerous contributions in the realm of rock, hard rock and dance pop genre. Born in 1947, David was passionate towards music from an early age . In 1969, his first release, Space Oddity, reached the top-5 list in UK Singles. His iconic contribution came in 1975, when he released his most prestigious album, Young Americans.
Ballon d’Or Award 2015 goes to Lionel Messi
The centre of attraction in the Ballon d’Or Award 2015 was Lionel Messi as he claimed the title for a record fifth time. The event took place on January 11 2016, where prominent names in the realm of football such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar were present. Lionel won the award with a vote percent of 41.33, whereas Cristiano Ronaldo was voted as the second best player with a vote percent of 27.76. Neymar was third in the list with a vote percent of 7.86. The event is hosted with a view to appreciate the contribution of football players at national and international level.
Nati Folk Dance in World Record
The traditional folk dance of Kull, Nati, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest form of folk dance in the world. The entry was made in January 2016, however, the event took place on October 26 2015 during the time of Dussehra festival. A total of 9892 women had participated in the event. Nati is the traditional dance of Kullu and has been practised from centuries. In 2014, it entered the Limca Book of Records with the participation of 8760 artists, simultaneously. The performance was done on the day of Vijaya Dashmi.
