The job market for the nurses is always on the high and with the passage of time as more and more hospitals and several other health care institutions are opening up , the demands for nurses are also increasing. Since the recent past various governmental organizations are advertising for the nursing jobs.  The essential educational qualification for applying to the various governmental nursing jobs is BSc in nursing. Like for example among others recently the Dyal Singh College which is under University of Delhi has advertised a requirement for the post of Nurse. Then there is a requirement of staff nurse in the Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Mumbai has also invited applications for the position of Nurse.

Many of these positions which are offered by various governmental institutions are a contractual job. The consolidated salary for the post of nurse varies between Rs. 13200 per month to 34800 per month along with the gross pay of Rs. 3200. Some organizations offer a grade of even higher range like Rs. 4600.

The major responsibilities that a nurse has to fulfill in the governmental institutions i.e. the governmental nursing colleges, is teaching the students in order to churn out better nurses and make the pupil aware of the new techniques and technologies that are used in the health care industry. However in the hospitals the nurses play a vital role in not only taking care of the patients but also in executing the task of a mediator among the doctors, the patients and the relatives or family members of the  patients. The nurses are majorly responsible in making a treatment successful as they are the ones on whom both the doctors and the patient parties relies on.
