Latest IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2016

According to latest notification IBPS PO/MT Exam 2016 will be conducted online. There are total two stages i.e. Preliminary Exam & Main Exam.

IBPS PO Preliminary Examination

The preliminary examination contain three papers having total of 100 marks. The total duration of the preliminary exam is of 1 hour.

English Language – 30 Questions – 30 Marks

Quantitative Aptitude – 35 Questions – 30 Marks

Reasoning Ability – 35 Questions – 35 Marks

IBPS PO Main Examination

The IBPS PO/MT main examination contain five subjects having total 200 marks. The total duration of the main exam is of 2 hours.

Reasoning – 50 Questions – 50 Marks

English – 40 Questions – 40 Marks

Quantitative Aptitude – 50 Questions – 50 Marks

General Awareness – 40 Questions – 40 Marks

Computer Knowledge – 20 Questions – 20 Marks

Negative Marks : The penalty of 0.25 marks will be levied, if any wrong answer has been given. The candidates are advised that they must ensure about the correct answer while marking the answer. In other case if candidate does not attempt the question and left black it, no wrong penalty will be applicable.

Minimum Cut Off Marks: The candidates must score a minimum marks or score in each of the paper to apply for the vacancies in participating banks . The minimum cut off marks will be 24 (Gen. Category) and 21 (for reserved category).

Interview : After getting the position in the list of shortlist of the candidates for IBPS PO/MT main exam the candidates will be called for the interview. The total marks for interview are 100. The marks should not be less than 40% to qualify the interview. The weightage ration of CWE Exam and interview should be 80:20.

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus 2016

Test of English Language

In this, test will be based on student’s capability to understand the English like as vocabulary, comprehension, general usage, grammar, and error detection. Vocabulary means Antonyms/synonyms/completion sentence. Comprehension means theme detection/completion passage/find the conclusion. Grammar means indirect direct speech/active passive voice. Error detection means passage/sentence/spelling correction.

Test of Logical Reasoning

Logical reasoning has two types one is verbal and second one is non-verbal. Verbal reasoning means blood relation/sitting arrangement/judgement/statement/coding decoding/making series and syllogism. Non-verbal means making series/analogy and classification.

Test of Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative aptitude means play with numbers and calculation like as add/minus/multiple/average/roots/percentage/profit & loss/ratio/time & distance/stock & shares/area. Data interpretation is also one of the parts of quantitative aptitude, in this tabulation/graphs like as bar/line and charts will be asked as questions.

Test of General Awareness

Meaning of general awareness is the ability to be conscious of events and current affairs of India like as sports/constitution/technique/economics/science/politics/culture and banking.

Test of Computer Knowledge

Computer has divided into two parts. One is hardware and other software. Hardware means bodily parts of computer like as monitor/printer/mouse/keyboard/C.P.U and, etc.  Software means application like as Ms office/paint/coral draw and, etc.
